New Year, New Lives?

It's official. Our blog title is out-of-date.

Spring semester is in full swing. But it's not swinging.

Anna left Old Farm for the sweet cheapness of home and bitter reality of student teaching.

Angie left Old Maid-dom for the sweet embrace of Sabel and the bitter reality of being engaged.
Just kidding. Engagements are great. Really.

The second half of Fall semester wasn't nearly as exciting as the first, but still fun.
I spent six weeks in practicum at Nibley Elementary in Mrs. Jenkins/Mrs. Houser's third grade class. Although I got to teach a few times, I mostly sat in the back and graded papers.
It looked like this:
I kind of miss the kids in that class, with their love of school and their lack of diversity. Also, their school was nice and they had lots of specialists. Let's face it, they are spoiled and nobody notices because it's Cache Valley. Best wishes, cookie cutter children!

Angie, Lexi, and Kandra all worked a lot and we all waited for Sabel to come visit to put the smile back on Angie's face.

The lack of exciting adventures was probably due to the fact that we were dutiful students and did homework. A lot of it.

We did, however, attend at least one basketball game,

wait for "the storm of the century" to arrive and then not be so impressive,

and we watched a lot of movies, like all three Back to the Futures. (Insert clip of Michael J. Fox saying "This is heavy!")

We also watched a lot of Firefly while eating oreo balls. I think we are all willing to do that again. Anytime. (Cut to photo of people on the couch covered in blankets eating homemade chocolate-covered Oreo balls.)

December was filled with socks and snow, as usual.

Finals Week eventually arrived and with it came the sixth semi-annual Wii Week. Despite a broken drum set, we played a lot of ridiculously loud (Sorry again, roommates!) Rock Band and Guitar Hero. There was also a surprisingly large amount of sword fighting going on. (cut to action shot of Angie and Ian dueling with wii-motes)
(oh wait, I can do it for real.)

Although I grew steadily more depressed as the day of my departure from Logan neared, there was some fun yet to be enjoyed. We had Egg Nog French Toast, which was delicious if I do say so myself, and went out for Pupusas and Aggie Ice Cream. Angie took us all to see Megamind 3D for free. We got back to find a large bubble in our ceiling filled with water! We drained it and were left with an interesting design and no idea how it happened.

My last night there, Angie and I decorated cupcakes. It was awesome. Why we had never done that before, I don't know. Brian helped by decorating one. Lexi helped by eating one.

The next morning, I packed up all of my things (well, almost all of it), said farewell to everyone, and drove home. Never to return again.

Except I probably will. We all know you can't deny the awesomeness that is our friendship! It calls out from the depths. Waiting. Standing right behind you. Breathing down your neck. Or maybe that's just my brother.

AND

Despite the let-down of not being together this semester, I think we all agree that Christmas break was awesome! For Angie, I would say it 'rocked' (pun intended). For me, it was fairly delicious.

Countdown to being real adults:
<4 months until graduation.
<5 months until Angie and Sabel get married.

  1. Hilarious. Especially the sweet and bitter part.
